Pulsed Electromagnetic Therapy (PEMF)

Dog resting during PEMF therapy

Every cell in the body has electrically charged particles called ions. When the body is injured or ill, conduction of these ions is negatively affected. PEMF stimulates the cell membrane to get these ions back to normal movement, therefore increasing cellular communication. This in turn increases blood supply, improves cell function, and decreases pain/inflammation.

Dogs receiving PEMF therapy do not feel the electromagnetic field even though it penetrates all tissues deeply and often fall asleep during the treatment. PEMF can be used to help heal wounds, soft tissue injuries, arthritis, tendon & ligament tears, and more. PEMF has been used on horses for many decades, but it is only more recently been made available to small animals now that the technology exists to scale down the equipment.
